St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral Restoration Project

St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral Restoration Project

73 Spruce Street North
Timmins (Ontario) P4N 6M9

Dear brothers and sisters:

As you know, 2012 will be the centennial year for the City of Timmins. It will mark
as well the one hundredth anniversary of the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua.
The present cathedral building was erected in 1937 and we have been advised
by engineering experts that this structure is in dire need of repairs for the twin
purposes of preservation and safety.

Work on this project will begin in the Spring of 2011 with an estimated cost of just
under One Million Dollars. This Committee has been formed to raise this
amount and has been authorized by the Bishop of the Diocese of Timmins to act
on his behalf towards reaching this goal.

Any assistance you can provide in this worthy endeavour would be very much

Donations will be tax deductible and should be made payable to:
“The St. Anthony of Padua Restoration Fund”

Thank you for your consideration and cooperation. Together we can
preserve this important landmark as our city celebrates its centennial year.

Sincerely yours,

Father Pat Lafleur
Vicar General

Father Léo Rancourt
Vicar General
